Kunming Flying Tigers Museum opened on December 20, 2012. The date is just the 71st anniversary of the First Combat in Kunming of the Flying Tigers. The museum celebrated its opening ceremony in the morning, announcing its open to the public for free.
The Flying Tigers is a famous air force once provide support to China in WWⅡ. As the headquarters to the Flying Tigers, Kunming is irreplaceable and holds a special place. People in Kunming will never forget the Flying Tigers that once help us in war time. This museum is built to memorizing General Chennault and his men.
Nell Callaway, granddaughter of General Chennault, Pedro Chan, the chairman of Chinese association in Los Angeles and an honorary citizen of Kunming, and Chinese veteran Chen Bingjing attended the opening ceremony.
